Are we free?
How can we be:
The earth is divided
For that land is not mine,
But nor is it thine.
It belongs to no one.
To journey, to see the world
Even then we are bound, chained.
And war! We fight for the most basic things!
Oil and gold
Are they truly worth the price of life?
Even what we wear,
Do we choose it
Or is it chosen for us?
Is it dictated to us?
Models become the infantry,
Designers the generals.
An army choosing the fashion of that season.
I may not trespass those fields
Or those woods
Or those mountains.
The earth is not mine
Nor is it thine.
Can we not share?
My ancestors once wandered
Free as butterflies and birds.
With jealousy i watch them now:
If only i could fly!
Free society:
Who is a slave?
Are you sure that we are free?
Democracy, government
We chain ourselves
People cause crime
Then laws are made to bind us further.
We destroy, break, burn the Earth
Is she Gaia?
Can you hear Her weep?
I belong to one country,
You, another.
We break Her, divide Her
And ourselves from each other.
Are we free?
You answer that.
